REJECTION...from the "Highest" Part I

**Warning...this blog contains my very opinionated views of the Catholic Church. If you think you might be offended, then don't read any further!**

This is a topic I have struggled with over the past 6 months or so. It seems to me that the Catholic Church, in general, holds itself at a status high above any other religion and to some extent God, Himself. I base these views on my own personal experience/rejection with the Catholic Church.

If God is a loving God and accepts everyone, regardless of faults/ priors/ sins, then why is it that an "outsider" has to jump through hoops to be accepted into the Catholic Church. Did Jesus, while hanging on the cross, say to his followers and non-followers for that matter, "I give my life so that sins may be forgiven, except for you, you, and you."? That's not my understanding of the story. He gave His life so that all sins would be forgiven.

Why is it that the Catholic Church feels the need to "judge" whether or not one is worthy of becoming Catholic? RCIA, I completely understand. I'm all for education and understanding. However, I have a hard time with the annulment process and review by the marriage tribunal. Sometimes, marriage is better off ended. Why should I be judged by a group of individuals who know nothing of my situation, except what was provided by me through their 100 question invasive questionnaire, what was provided by my ex of 14yrs (if anything), and 3 witnesses? They weren't there, they didn't live with him, why should they decide if I'm worthy of being a Catholic? Which I am apparently not, because two years after completing RCIA, my annulment is "still in the beginning phases", whatever that means.

I could walk into a plethora of churches and be accepted with open arms, no questions asked. Obviously, I'm not Catholic worthy because I was previously married.

Strike one!

I grew up strict Catholic and I'm not Catholic worthy enough for them to acknowledge my civil marriage to a man I've known since the 6th grade!! Which also means I haven't taken communion in almost 16 years.
Frustrating!!

Side note- well written girl, 2 thumbs up! :-D
