1. The crickets sing, and I love that they drive my husband in-freaking-sane!
2. Here's to you wherever you are.
3. I want to get far away from the man I call Mr. Wonderful!
4. I was tan and skinny and my "girls" were where they should be and I was running naked on a beach; this was a dream.
5. But as for me, life is not a dream and I'm not the skinny, tan, perky boobed naked person running on a beach...dang the luck!
6. Moron County is where I come from.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to boat drinks, tomorrow my plans include a Halloween party and Sunday, I want to go where it's WARM!...oh wait, I am where it is WARM!

To be free again...
Oh man, I cannot begin to express how liberating it is to be wireless again! After months of my laptop being "incapacitated" followed by months of no wireless and being bound to a desktop, I am ecstatic, to say the least, that I am now "free to roam about". I can sit in my comfy chair and surf the web, blog, check the weather, etc...
Woohooo! I'm free!
Woohooo! I'm free!

REJECTION...from the "Highest" Part I
**Warning...this blog contains my very opinionated views of the Catholic Church. If you think you might be offended, then don't read any further!**
This is a topic I have struggled with over the past 6 months or so. It seems to me that the Catholic Church, in general, holds itself at a status high above any other religion and to some extent God, Himself. I base these views on my own personal experience/rejection with the Catholic Church.
If God is a loving God and accepts everyone, regardless of faults/ priors/ sins, then why is it that an "outsider" has to jump through hoops to be accepted into the Catholic Church. Did Jesus, while hanging on the cross, say to his followers and non-followers for that matter, "I give my life so that sins may be forgiven, except for you, you, and you."? That's not my understanding of the story. He gave His life so that all sins would be forgiven.
Why is it that the Catholic Church feels the need to "judge" whether or not one is worthy of becoming Catholic? RCIA, I completely understand. I'm all for education and understanding. However, I have a hard time with the annulment process and review by the marriage tribunal. Sometimes, marriage is better off ended. Why should I be judged by a group of individuals who know nothing of my situation, except what was provided by me through their 100 question invasive questionnaire, what was provided by my ex of 14yrs (if anything), and 3 witnesses? They weren't there, they didn't live with him, why should they decide if I'm worthy of being a Catholic? Which I am apparently not, because two years after completing RCIA, my annulment is "still in the beginning phases", whatever that means.
I could walk into a plethora of churches and be accepted with open arms, no questions asked. Obviously, I'm not Catholic worthy because I was previously married.
Strike one!

Another trip around the sun...
As I close another year of my life here on earth, I begin a new year with a different perspective on life. Time to put away my childish ways and start enjoying each day for what it is...my life. I cannot live in the past and dwell upon the things I wish were different. I must take each day with a ray of sunshine (literally) and make the best of it. It is time for me to discover exactly what it is that will make me happy. Yes, ME...I deserve it! It is my time to shine!
And since it has been a while, I can't resist the opportunity to throw out a Buffett lyric...
Jimmy Buffett, Trip Around The Sun Lyrics
(with Martina McBride)
Hear 'em singing Happy Birthday
Better think about the wish I made
This year gone by ain't been a piece of cake
Every day's a revolution
Pull it together and it comes undone
Just one more candle and a trip around the sun
Chorus:I'm just hanging on while this old world keeps spinning
And it's good to know it's out of my control
If there's one thing that I've learned from all this living
Is that it wouldn't change a thing if I let go
No, you never see it coming
Always wind up wondering where it went
Only time will tell if it was time well spent
It's another revelation
Celebrating what I should have done
With these souvenirs of my trip around the sun
(Chorus)
Yes, I'll make a resolution
That I'll never make another one
Just enjoy this ride on my trip around the sun
Just enjoy this ride ...
Until it's done
No regrets, just lessons learned! Happy Birthday to me!

Kiss THIS...
In honor of my favorite Aunt visiting today, here is a list of people/things that can kiss THIS!
1. Lisa, for always being a great friend and co-worker and for all the fun times we shared teaching those Jr. High maniacs. Maybe someday I will have the kahunas to tell you exactly how I feel in person and possibly forgive...until then, I hope you are reading! Pucker up baby and kiss THIS!
2. Wal-Mart, for always having speedy, quality customer service and some of the friendliest c0-shoppers I've ever met. No matter which Wal-Mart in which state you visit, you are sure to find quality service and friendly customers...that is why my glass picture frame was so carefully packaged between the sugar and the jar of pickles and gently placed into my buggy at check-out which explains how it made it home in no less than 3 pieces! Oh, I can't forget to mention the polite gentleman who so kindly told me that "if I wanted to print pictures that I should go shop for at least another hour because he had 7-800 he was printing as soon as the other guy who was taking forever was finished". Thanks for cutting in line so I could wait even longer to print my pictures, I have nothing else to do with my time and I love to wait...just makes my day! If you weren't so dang easy, Wal-Mart, I'd be boycotting you right now! Instead, pucker up and kiss THIS!
3. US Postal Service, my gratitude for having the shortest lines possible and all windows staffed. It sure makes my visits to your local station quick and easy. Also, thanks for the reasonably priced bubble mailers, they sure are handy when you are boycotting Wal-Mart. Pucker up...!
4. Real estate agents, I must know, please teach me how to make a fortune doing practically nothing. I have computer skills, I can take pictures, I can talk a good game, I can swing a hammer ...I really must look into real estate schooling...until then, pucker up!
5. Gravity, thank you so very much for all you have done to improve my appearance over the years. I really appreciate the girls hanging to my belly button, and the number you have done on my ass is out of this world! But you really shouldn't have, I really liked the way things were back in 1990 something. So what would you say to the thought of easing up a bit on that pull and while you're at it, do you think you could put in a good word with your buddy Age? I've always liked highlights, but the ones I have now are a bit white for my taste! If not...kiss THIS!
I could go on and on, but my brain has went blank...another shout-out for my buddy Age. If you have anything or anyone you would like to add to the KISS THIS list, feel free...I could use a good laugh!

12 years and counting...
It is hard to believe that 12 years ago I was in severe pain recovering from the labor and delivery of my first born child. She weighed in at 8 lbs on the nose, had long black hair, blue eyes, all red and wrinkly and fuzzy...just the cutest thing I'd ever seen.
If 36 hours of intense labor and an emergency c-section are any indication of what her adolescent/teen years will bring...Lord have mercy!
This birthday was a transition from girl into young lady as far as gifts. And a huge realization for me that my cute, wrinkly, fuzzy baby is growing up...FAST!
Her main gift was a cell phone, but Mommy's gift to her little girl this year was a hair dryer and accessories, shaving supplies (for when she's ready to try, with permission to shave to the knee), and some subtle make-up. She was excited about the hair dryer and make-up, but blushed at the shaving supplies.
She asked at the beginning of last school year if she could shave, the reply was a simple no, and the topic was never mentioned again. I'm really curious to see how long she waits before she asks me to show her how. The make-up was also given with the instructions of this is the real stuff, not fake stuff to play with, when you are ready, I will show you how to properly apply it. Hopefully, the gifts will motivate her to do something with herself other than let her hair dry in strings and hang in her face and to take care of her skin, because we all know we shouldn't sleep with make-up on our faces so she will get an extra face wash a day...unless she is like her mother and sleep with it on.
All in all, I think she had a good day...she is now watching Mary Poppins with her friend who is sleeping over tonight. No matter how old, no matter how much attitude, no matter the hell that will come through the teen years...she's still one of the three cutest things I've ever seen!

long time no blog...
Long time no nothing...except box after box after box since March something or other when I became "unemployed". Imagine the fun I've been having with that...throw in two days on the road sandwiched between uhaul trucks, and numerous internal battles, mix in a few weeks without Prozac, add MIL and Mr. W non-stop 6 days a week and you get Me...a train wreck waiting to happen or volcano ready to blow or countless other analogies.
I was on a roll with my creative, free-spirited side for a bit. Was being a key term, I haven't done a painting or drawing in weeks. The last one I did was in April. I haven't blogged in who know how long, no creative release there. I'm in a creative slump as the day to day grind sucks the life out of me. To put it all in perspective, I have no one but myself to blame for my current state of being.
Rewind to the day I became "unemployed", my actions during that time, set a plan I thought to be just talk into fast forward mode with a lot of help from outsiders, The plan became a reality very quickly. In fact, too quickly for my procrastinating self to do anything about it without crushing the delicate lives of the three people I love most, my kids. A character flaw, if you will, passed on from my mother. Sacrifice your own happiness for that of your kids...guess I should have taken away from her suffering that sometimes it isn't worth it and your kids will turn out to be good people anyway. At least I think we turned out to be good people....there are some who would say otherwise. I'm quite sure.
I've totally lost my train of thought on this...the only thing I can say is that I am left with some very difficult choices to make and a whole lot of praying, that the decisions I make are the right ones, to do. At this point, I'm putting this in God's hands and His will. That's all I have right now. I'm mentally spent.
